The 1,500-acre Lake Terrell Wildlife area was established in 1947 by the Department of Game for the purpose of producing and harvesting wild game. It is now managed by the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
The area is popular for fishing with several locations to put your boat in or fish from a dock. The lake is best known for its rainbow and cutthroat trout as well as bass and spiny-ray fish. Boats are prohibited on the lake from October to January and other areas are closed to wildlife viewing from September to March due to hunting season
Five miles west of Ferndale.

Fishing Description: 

Year-round open season, but fishing from any floating device is prohibited for part of the year. Check the latest regulations pamphlet for dates. This lake offers excellent fishing for warmwater species, with largemouth bass, yellow perch, and bullhead catfish taken. This lake is also stocked with channel catfish. Cutthroat trout are also caught, and 523 larger triploid rainbow trout will be added this year.

Facilities and Parks: 

There is public access, a fishing dock and WDFW boat launch on the west shore

Directions to Lake: 

I-5 exit 260 (Lummi Isl/Slater Rd). W on Slater Rd 6 miles to flashing red light (Lake Terrell Rd). R (N) on Lake Terrell Rd appx 3 miles - road ends at the wildlife area headquarters.
