Fishing Report Quarry Pond Washington - 2012-05-11 #2
I fish this pond all the time. This is my favorite place to fish for so many reasons, mainly because I catch more fish there than anywhere else. The only bad thing about Quarry Pond is there is no real shade and watch out for ticks. I caught a 4 1/2 lb triploid trout here about a month ago on a worm no doubt! But when I went there last time on the 11th of May....I got there around 2pm and it was a little breezy, thank God as it was hot in the direct sunlight. I set up my rod with a size 8 hook and three tinny weights that you pinch them on. Then I put on the hook a orange garlic ball, then some chartreuse power bait dough just a tinny piece then a white ball at the end of the hook so that the power bait is in between the two balls. Then dip it all in shrimp oil or salmon oil and cast it in. I make sure to put the weights 2 to 3 feet from the hook. Sit in my chair and wait. tighten my line. This is how I fish for trout at every place I go and it works. This is bottom fishing. I eat snacks while waiting for a fish to bite always holding my pole. Also I read a book usually while it is slow. I caught my limit in the 6 hrs I was there and all but one fish was 12 inches or more. It was a great day! Only reason I have not been back since is because it's been really hot this week. Usually I fish 4 to 5 days a week. We do eat a lot of fish that I catch or my husband catches. He goes fishing with me on weekends. If you want a easy fun fishing day come on out to Quarry Pond. Located near Burbank, Wa.
