The crappie are suspended over sunken brushtops on the mainlake. Jigs are producing better than minnows right now. The best depths have been 8 to 15 ft. The bream bite is fair. Those fishing from the bank and the piers are reporting catching them on tightlined redworms. Most reports are coming from 4 to 10 ft of water. The bass anglers are still catching a few fish on topwater baits early and late. Carolina-rigged or texas-rigged plastics are the go-to baits during the day off the points and brushtops. The catfish anglers are catching a few cats on nightcrawlers fished in 10-20 ft. of water. As the water continues to cool, the bite should start to pick up for bass and crappie.
