Located in Warren County, New Jersey, Merrill Creek Reservoir is a 650 acre (2.6 km²) artificial lake that is surrounded by 290 acres (1.2 km²) of protected woodland and fields. These lands are themselves part of 2,000 acres (8.1 km2) of open spaces. The purpose of building Merrill Creek Reservoir was to store water for the Delaware River then release the water into the river when it ran low. The reservoir and the surrounding parkland also offer visitors an opportunity to engage in outdoor activity.

Some of the abundant wildlife around the lake includes bald eagles, crows, white-tailed deer, turkey, and other various migratory birds.

Fishing Description: 

The reservoir is best known for its brown trout fishing. Other fish in the reservoir include walleye, yellow perch, small and largemouth bass, pickerel, crappie, catfish, sunfish, carp, rainbow trout, brook trout and lake trout.

Facilities and Parks: 

The Boat Ramp is open from dawn 'til dusk but its use is gate controlled on a schedule of specific hours for opening and closing. No boats may be on the premises before the gate is open or after the gate is closed. The ramp will remain open year round, unless it is inaccessible due to ice.

FROM RT. 80, TRAVELING EAST OR WEST:
Take Exit 12 - Route 521, Hope/Blairstown
1 mile to intersection of Rts. 521 and 519, go straight onto Rt. 519 south
16 miles on Rt. 519 south and bear left at Y-intersection of Rt. 519 and Rt. 646
1.3 miles, go left on Fox Farm Road to intersection of Fox Farm and Richline Roads
Make a right onto Richline Road
Make the next right onto Merrill Creek Road (see Merrill Creek Reservoir sign)
Boat Ramp is straight ahead and the Visitors Center is down the roadway that veers to the right
