Edward MacDowell Lake is operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and located off of State Route 101. It is open year-round from sunrise to sunset.

Facilities and Parks: 

Picnic shelters may be reserved from the third weekend in May through the second weekend in September.

The park offers picnic tables and grills, horseshoe pits, a swim beach, (no lifgeguards, swim at your own risk), a nature trail and hiking trail, a boat ramp, and two picnic shelters. Unreserved shelters are available for use on a first come, first served basis.

Interpretive programs are provided by our Park Rangers and interpretive exhibits are located in the Ranger Station.

From Route 101 in Peterborough, take a right onto Union Street for 1/2 mile, then take a left onto Wilder Street and travel all the way to the end of the street.
