Pokegama Lake is a large (6,612 acre) lake located 5 miles southwest of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Pokegama Lake is connected to the Mississippi River and an Army Corps of Engineers dam controls water levels.

Fishing Description: 

Primary fish species include walleye and northern pike as well as largemouth and smallmouth bass.

Other species sampled include black crappie, bluegill, black bullhead, bowfin, lake whitefish, pumpkinseed sunfish, rainbow smelt, rock bass, shorthead redhorse, tullibee, white sucker, yellow bullhead, and yellow perch.

Facilities and Parks: 

The lake has seven public accesses and is highly developed.
