Island is a 8,112 acre reservoir with a maximum depth of 94 feet. The lake is located 10 miles north of Duluth, Minnesota off Highway #4 and has three concrete, back-in public access points administered by Minnesota Power

Fishing Description: 

Island Lake Reservoir has excellent fishing for walleye, muskie, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, and black crappie. However, fishing for northern pike and bluegill have been below average recently. Other fish species include blackchin shiner, burbot, channel catfish, emerald shiner, Johnny darter, largemouth bass, logperch, pumpkinseed sunfish, rock bass, shorthead redhorse and white sucker.
