Lake Habeeb (also known as Rocky Gap Lake) is located within Rocky Gap State Park in north central Allegany county. It is bordered by Rocky Gap Lodge and Golf Resort. The 243 acre lake was impounded in 1969 and opened in 1974. There are two boat ramps provided for launching your vessel (for a small fee), however gasoline motors are prohibited. Three beach sites can be utilized for swimming throughout the summer months, one of which is located within the parks large campground. Boat rentals including canoes and kayaks are available at the campground. Fishing is permitted 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Hiking trails provide fishermen complete access to fish the lake's 9.4 miles of shoreline. Shallow flats and points as well as sharp drop-offs provide angler's a variety of fishing strategies. Maximum depth of the lake reaches 74 feet. Water clarity can be defined as clear. Artificial fish structures were constructed and placed throughout the lake to increase survival of young fish species. In recent years there has been an explosion of vegetation, observed growing in depths in excess of 13 feet. This vegetation may hinder fishing and boating activities during late summer and fall.
