Depends on how remote and mountainous your location is. Most stocked streams in accessible areas outside prime habitat are picked clean pretty quickly, but it would really help if you gave a specific location. In subprime habitat, it is common practice to stock water for seasonal fishing knowing the fish won't live through the summer heat. Your best resource is to go to your state's DNR web site and search for stocking schedules and other information. Most states' DNRs will provide this information publicly.
