Smith Mountain Lake Sherms Boat Repair - unprofessional
Just in case you find yourself in need of engine repair while visiting Smith Mountain Lake, you may be interested in my ordeal. Sherms Boat Repair has had my outboard motor for a full year as of this month. When I dropped it off in March of 2011 I was originally told it should be ready in a few weeks. Reasonable. Since then I have been told a number of times it will be ready but when I go to pick it up..oh, sorry, we found something else wrong and need more time. Sherm has told me on at least 6 occassions he will call me back with info regarding my repair but has NEVER followed through. It has been nearly a year and Sherm has not returned one call. I dont know how this place stays in business. I can only assume there are not enough repair shops available so you take what you can get. When/IF my outboard is repaired, I will NEVER do business with such an unprofessional person/business. I lost all of last season but will be picking up my motor next month, repaired or not. If you know of a good repair shop for Honda outboards, I would appreciate the tip. Thanks.
