Lake Almanor is a large artificial lake in northwestern Plumas County, in northeastern California. The reservoir has a capacity of 1,308,000 acre feet (1.6 km³) and a maximum depth of about 90 feet. It is formed by Canyon Dam on the North Fork of the Feather River, as well as Benner and Last Chance Creeks, Hamilton Branch, and various natural springs.

Fishing Description:

Fish for rainbow and brown trout, smallmouth bass, Chinook and coho salmon, channel catfish, and brown bullhead in Lake Almanor and nearby creeks and rivers.

Recreational Activities:

Lake Almanor Beach

A large day use beach with a swimming area protected by buoys to separate swimmers from motor boats, jet skis, and other lake users. Ample parking is provided within walking distance.

Camping:

Lake Almanor Campground

Developed campground with 104 designated sites; maximum of 8 people per site. Maximum RV length 40` (not all sites will accommodate this size; some are limited to 25`). Parking is limited. Grills and tables provided. ADA accessible site available. Call the Almanor Ranger District for more information at (530) 258-2141.

Boat Ramp:

The boat ramp at the Almanor North Campground is a newly constructed facility with flush toilets and ample parking.
